An Alabama football legend will be chard with a DUI resulting in death.

This morning, an Alabama football legend was involved in a car crash that resulted in the death of one person.

The accident took place early Tuesday morning in Las Vegas. The police department reported that Henry Ruggs, the former Alabama football star and current wide receiver of the Las Vegas Raiders, was driving a Corvette and rear-ended a Toyota Rav4. The victim’s Rav4 caught on fire, and the fire department found the deceased victim inside their car.

Henry Ruggs remained on the scene, but he showed signs of impairment. While he was transported to the hospital, his injuries were not considered to be life-threatening. Ruggs will be charged with a DUI resulting in death, according to the police statement.

Every state has differing laws regarding the sentences of a DUI resulting in death. In Nevada, vehicular homicide can lead to life in prison with parole after 10 years, but vehicular death would be somewhere between 2 and 20 years.

This story is developing, and not all the facts have been released. Right now, all we know is that at least one person died from the accident, Henry Ruggs was under the influence and he is injured but not in critical condition.

Obviously, the most important factor right now is the safety of those involved. A family will be mourning the loss of a loved one, and that matters more than any details at the current time. However, this will absolutely have implications on Ruggs’ NFL career, and he may have played his last snap in the league.

Regardless, that will be settled in time, and the important thing now is to keep the family of the victim in your thoughts. As more information surrounding the accident are reported, we will post them.
