This will take a look at each Alabama guard for the 2021-22 season, beginning with the most-experienced member of the group.
Jaden Shackelford
Shackelford returns for the 2021-22 season after leading the Crimson Tide with 14 PPG a year ago, a season that included a Second-Team All-SEC appearance. Drawing the start in 32 of 33 games, Shackelford also averaged 3.8 RPG and a career-high 2 APG, while shooting 41% from the field and 34.2% from three.
The junior has averaged a combined 14.5 PPG the past two seasons at Alabama, and has been one of the top overall scorers not just with the Crimson Tide, but the SEC overall. After coming to Tuscaloosa as a four-star recruit, Shackelford has cemented himself as one of the Crimson Tide’s top guards from day one.
A preseason First-Team All-SEC selection entering the 2021-22 campaign, Shackelford will feature his familiar role in the Alabama starting lineup, as well as a candidate to lead the Crimson Tide in scoring once again. One of the most-talented offensive players in the SEC, Shackelford should be set for yet another phenomenal season once again.
2021-22 Season Prediction: 15.5 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 2.1 APG, 0.9 SPG, 0.2 BPG, 42.2 FG%, 35.1 3P%, 76.4 FT%, First-Team All-SEC
