Alabama Basketball 2021-22 Season Preview: Guards
By Matt Melton
Jusaun Holt
The second of Alabama’s freshman guards, Holt is set to be a key contributor off the bench for the Crimson Tide this season.
A consensus four-star prospect, Holt played his high school basketball at St. Francis (GA) where he averaged 21.5 PPG, 8.3 RPG, 4 APG, and 2.4 SPG a season ago awhile winning his second-consecutive Class A-Private state championship. A Second-Team All-State selection, Holt shot 64% from the field, as well as 36% from three, while making a team-leading 57 shots from behind the arch.
An impressive three-point shooter, Holt will be key in helping to replace the lost long-range shooting production from John Petty Jr, as well as being a key contributor off the Crimson Tide’s bench as mentioned previously. Likely seeing time at both the two and three, Holt has the potential to be one of the most-impactful freshman off the bench in the SEC this season.
2021-22 Season Prediction: 4.2 PPG, 1.7 RPG, 0.8 APG, 0.3 SPG, 0.3 BPG, 39.2 FG%, 35.2 3P%, 79.8 FT%
