No.2 Alabama Football (8-1) survived against the upset-minded LSU Tigers (4-5) 20-14.
A win is a win.
In a week where the College Football Playoff Committee faced enormous criticism for placing the Crimson Tide second, the offense came out flat and struggled against an underwhelming LSU. In contrast, the resilient defense carried the Tide to victory.
The good news is Alabama gets the opportunity to scrimmage with their retooled offensive line against hapless New Mexico State next weekend.
The bad news is the Crimson Tide needs to display vast improvement for the last two November weekends. Arkansas and Auburn await and could ruin their opportunity to face No.1 Georgia in the SEC Championship game.
