To open the 2021 season, Alabama hosts Louisiana Tech, Tuesday night in Tuscaloosa. The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs were 24-8 last season, finishing second in Conference USA with a league record of 12-4. The Bulldogs closed the season with a 3-1 record in the NIT.
The two teams have met in five previous games, with the Alabama Crimson Tide building a perfect, 5-0 record.

The Bulldogs are not an easy opener for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Nate Oats has better talent, but it is less accustomed to playing together than Eric Konkel’s roster. Oats has to mold a new lineup after the departures of four starters from last season. Talent favors the Tide and should provide the win. It will be no surprise if the new-look Tide is ragged in the season opener.
The prediction is a Tide win, nearing double-digits, but not covering the 11.5 points spread.
