Alabama Crimson Tide vs. South Alabama Jaguars  Odds: Line, Spread, Over/Under

According to WynnBET, the Alabama Crimson Tide is a 21-point favorite. The Over/Under is at 148.5 points.

Alabama vs. South Alabama Prediction Tonight

In the third game of the early-season homestand run, the Crimson Tide hosts the South Alabama Jaguars, Tuesday night in Tuscaloosa. South Alabama was 17-11 last season, finishing strong by winning nine of its last 12 games. The Jaguars finished fourth in the Sun Belt Conference with a league record of 10-7. The Jaguars are 1-1 this season, losing in their last game to Wichita State, by six points on the road.

South Alabama has improved from last season with transfer players Jay Jay Chandler (Texas A&M), Charles Manning (LSU), Javon Franklin (Auburn), Tyrell Jones (Auburn) and Diante Smith (TCU). Through two games, Franklin is the Jags’ leading scorer at 15 points per game, followed by Chandler with 14.5 points. Chandler may not be available Tuesday night due to an injury.

The two teams have met in only three past contests. The Tide won the most recent one in 2010. The Jags program can still brag about defeating the Crimson Tide in the NCAA Tournament many years ago.

The Crimson Tide is ranked as the nation’s No. 14 team in the AP Poll rankings and No. 11 by Ken Pomeroy.

The prediction is a big Tide win covering the 21 point spread if Chandler cannot play. If he is available, the Crimson Tide will still win but is less likely to cover the spread.
