Duds

The special teams snafu

Arkansas executed a field goal jump pass for 32 yards to score a touchdown in the fourth quarter bringing the deficit to 6 points.

Two weeks earlier, LSU completed a punt jump pass for a fourth-down conversion. It was disappointing to see Alabama Football unprepared for the play.

Goal line woes

Two plays stand out: Despite solid play all afternoon, Bryce Young took a 16-yard sack pushing Alabama back to the 30-yard line. Steady Will Reichard came in and missed the 47-yard attempt keeping Arkansas’ upset bid alive.

The other play, Cameron Latu caught a 20-yard pass; and as he headed for the end zone had the ball stripped. Two wasted opportunities kept the Razorbacks at bay.

Secondary issues
An injured Treylon Burks abused Alabama defenders all game. His one touchdown of 66 yards would not have happened if he received a flag for his obvious push off to catch the ball.

Can Alabama fix its defensive woes before facing Georgia?

Coach Saban is concerned because he removed Josh Jobe and inserted freshman corner “Kool Aid” McKinstry. Daniel Wright and Brian Branch gained extended playing time as Demarco Hellams and Malachi Moore were taken out of the game as Saban looked for better matchups for the Hogs.
