Alabama Football: Tide’s report card vs. Arkansas Razorbacks

1 of 6

How did Alabama football do against Arkansas?

Despite struggling against a few inferior opponents this year, Alabama football has clinched the SEC West and control their own destiny as the regular season wraps up. The Crimson Tide will play on the road in the Iron Bowl before determining their fate against the Georgia Bulldogs.

To clinch the SEC West, Alabama beat the Arkansas Razorbacks at home. It wasn’t as pretty as you would like, but the Tide still came away with a win. They had to recover an onside kick to put the game away, but they are still a one-loss team with everything in front of them.

This was Alabama football’s last chance to clean things up before playing the Auburn Tigers. Auburn has gotten worse as the season has progressed, but Alabama will need to bring their best if they want to win in Jordan-Hare for the first time since 2015.

Against Arkansas, not everything was clean. Here is the weekly report card for the Crimson Tide as they look ahead to the Iron Bowl.

Tight Ends: C+

Blocking is no longer an issue with the tight ends, but Alabama rarely keeps the tight ends in to block. Instead, they are being graded based on their ability to impact the passing game as receivers.

Billingsley only had one catch, and his production has not been near as much as fans expected at the start of the year. Latu had a strong start when Billingsley was in the dog house, but his production hasn’t been what you would expect either. He had 3 catches for 58 yards, but his fumble near the goal line kept this game close.
