Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Houston Odds: Spread, Over/Under
According to WynnBET, the Alabama Crimson Tide is a 1.5-point favorite. The Over/Under is at 146 points.
Alabama vs. Houston Prediction Today
Saturday night’s game will be another major challenge for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Houston holds opponents to a tad over 53 points a game. The Cougars excel at pressure defense. They will challenge every pass and screen and try to run the Crimson Tide off the three-point line.
Ranked No. 14 in the AP Poll, Houston has an NCAA Net Ranking of No. 3. Ken Pomeroy has the Cougars at No. 5.
The rankings are reversed for the Crimson Tide with Alabama No. 9 in the AP Poll. Pomeroy has Alabama at No. 10 and the Tide’s Net Ranking is No. 11.
Alabama will have to match Houston’s defense. Houston works hard to force turnovers and the Crimson Tide cannot afford to be loose with the ball. Similar to old-school basketball, rebounding and free-throw shooting could decide the outcome.
In what will not be a high-scoring game, execution in late possessions will likely determine the winner. Neither team will match their scoring average for the season. Not having school in session and the late start will negate a typical Crimson Tide home-court advantage.
The prediction is Alabama prevails in a squeaker, 72-71.
