With the Early Signing Period having opened on Wednesday, Alabama Football ended the day with the No. 2 overall recruiting class in the country according to the 247Sports Team Rankings.

The Crimson Tide signed all of their current commits who were committed entering the day, as well as also adding four new players to the class, all of whom signed on Wednesday.

Alabama Football lands four commits on Early Signing Day

The first of these four commits came on Wednesday afternoon when in-state defensive lineman Khurtiss Perry announced he was signing with the Crimson Tide over a final list that also included Auburn, Clemson, Texas, and UCF.

A four-star prospect from 2021 Alabama Class 5A state champion Pike Road, Perry is rated as the No. 74 overall player in the country, as well as the No. 4 player in the state of Alabama. Perry is coming off a phenomenal senior season where he collected 23 sacks, and is a player who has lined up at multiple different spots along the defensive line.

Shortly after Perry signed, Alabama got some more good news when four-star wide receiver and No. 43 overall player nationally Shazz Preston announced he had signed with the Crimson Tide.

The No. 3 ranked wide receiver in the country, Preston attends St. James (LA) where he is coming off a strong 2021 season in which he amassed 633 yards and eight touchdowns on 57 catches. The No. 4 overall player in the state of Louisiana, Preston likely puts the finishing touches on yet another phenomenal wide receiver class for the Crimson Tide alongside other names including Isaiah Bond, Aaron Anderson, and Kobe Prentice.

A few hours later, the Crimson Tide added yet another massive defensive line commit in IMG Academy (FL) edge rusher Jihaad Campbell.

A four-star prospect, Campbell is rated as the No. 78 overall player in the country, as well as the No. 11 player in the state of Florida. A former Clemson commit, Campbell combines with five-star Jeremiah Alexander to give Alabama Football two truly elite edge rushers in this class.

The final addition to the 2022 class of the day came not-too-long after Campbell when the Crimson Tide added four-star defensive back Earl Little Jr.

A versatile defensive back from American Heritage (FL), Little Jr is rated as the No. 101 overall player in the country, as well as the No. 16 overall player in the state of Florida. The highest rated cornerback signee in Alabama’s class so far, Little Jr is the second American Heritage corner to commit to the Crimson Tide in recent years joining former Alabama star Patrick Surtain II.
