Alabama Football fans already know two things about the Crimson Tide 2022 roster. It will be loaded with talent and, as always, Nick Saban and the Alabama football staff will have a numbers problem.

That future numbers problem cannot be completely ignored until after the Playoff games. With 23 new signees for 2022, plus incoming transfer, Eli Ricks, Nick Saban must decide if he has room for one or two, or possibly more incoming transfer players.

As soon as former 5-Star, LSU wide receiver, Kayshon Boutte hits the Portal, the Crimson Tide will have to snatch him up fast. Then there is the often rumored possibility of former Georgia Tech, running back, Jahmyr Gibbs. Gibbs is too good to not have many suitors. That he has not announced a decision yet could mean, he is waiting for a decision by Nick Saban.

Would there be room for more incoming transfers after adding Boutte and Gibbs? Not even the Alabama Football staff knows for sure. Many current Crimson Tide players will (and should) wait until after the Playoffs to make their decisions.

We fans are an impatient lot, so for the sake of discussion, a review of the 2022 roster is provided below. It is segmented by position group, with estimates (maybe they are only guesses) on what transitions may occur.

A first presumption is no redshirt seniors will return to the Crimson Tide. Added to that is a projection of the players leaving for an NFL opportunity. Also considered are position group situations with more than a full roster of players.
