Looking at Alabama Football’s 2022 signing class

With the Early Signing Period having officially concluded, here is a look at Alabama Football‘s 2022 signing class which is rated as the No. 2 class in the country. All rankings courtesy of the 247Sports Composite

NOTE: Walter Bob (four-star DE, Acadiana, LA) has not signed and is not included, as well as Alabama Football’s two transfer portal additions.

QB Ty Simpson

The Crimson Tide added only one quarterback in the 2022 class in five-star Ty Simpson from Westview High School in Martin, TN. Rated as the No. 24 overall player nationally, Simpson is also considered as the No. 3 quarterback in the country and the No. 2 overall player in the state of Tennessee.

An exciting dual-threat quarterback, Simpson comes to Tuscaloosa off a phenomenal 2021 senior season in which he was named the Gatorade Tennessee Player of the Year throwing for 2,827 yards and 41 touchdowns, while also accounting for 11 more scores on the ground. One of the highest-rated quarterback recruits in Crimson Tide history, Simpson is an early enrollee, and is already practicing with the team in preparation for the College Football Playoff.

RB Emmanuel Henderson

Joining the previously mentioned Simpson as Alabama’s other five-star recruit on the offensive side of the ball is Emmanuel Henderson, an in-state running back from Geneva County High School in Hartford, AL. The No. 1 ranked running back nationally, Henderson is also the No. 2 overall player in the state of Alabama, as well as the No. 30 overall player in the country.

A talented multi-sport athlete, Henderson entered the 2021 season having rushed for a combined 3,445 yards and 52 touchdowns in his high school career and put the finishing touches on that as a senior by being named Class 2A First-Team All-State for the second consecutive season. Henderson is not an early enrollee, but could easily make an impact in a talented running back room in 2022.

RB Jamarion Miller

Alabama’s second and final running back in the 2022 class is Jamarion Miller, a former Texas commit who flipped to the Crimson Tide back on November 25. Attending Tyler Legacy High School in Tyler, TX, Miller is rated as the No. 7 running back in the country, as well as the No. 18 player in the state of Texas and No. 97 nationally.

A four-year player and multi-sport athlete at Tyler Legacy, Miller turned in a phenomenal high school career where he rushed for a combined 4,688 yards and 47 touchdowns since his freshman season, while also adding 14 receiving touchdowns during that span. The four-star recruit will enroll early in Tuscaloosa.
