A rematch of an action-packed 2021 SEC Championship Game in which the Crimson Tide won 41-24, Alabama and Georgia meet for the second time this season in the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship.

Defending national champion Alabama booked their trip back to the title game with a 27-6 win over No. 4 Cincinnati in the CFP Semifinal, a game in which the Crimson Tide never trailed. A dominant performance on all fronts, the Crimson Tide accounted for an impressive 301 yards on the ground, as well as holding the Bearcats offense to only 218 total yards.

Ranked as the No. 1 team in the country, the Crimson Tide sit at 13-1 on the year averaging an impressive 41.1 PPG on offense, while allowing 20.2 PPG on defense. Led by head coach Nick Saban, Alabama will be looking to repeat as national champions after lifting the trophy a year ago, as well as win their seventh national championship since 2009.

Georgia on the other hand booked their trip to the national championship with a dominant 34-11 win over No. 2 Michigan in the CFP Semifinal, returning to the championship game for the first time since the 2017 season. Similar to the Crimson Tide previously, the Bulldogs never trailed in the contest, mainly due to carrying a 27-3 lead into halftime.

The No. 3 team in the country, Georgia also stands at 13-1 on the year, and are averaging 39 PPG on offense while allowing only 9.5 PPG on defense, the fewest in the country. Lead by head coach Kirby Smart, Georgia will be looking to win their first national championship since 1980.
