Bama Hammer staff members have taken a close look at the chances of a 19th Alabama Football National Championship. Unlike some ‘experts’ in the national, sports media, our outlook is bullish on the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Even some of the national experts picking the Crimson Tide would quibble over whether a win Monday night would accurately be the Tide’s No. 19. There is no room for such a debate in the following predictions. However, as reference material, here is our post from six months ago contending that National Championships would be best measured by those awarded or won on the field. The suggestion made was only AP and Coaches Polls, BCS Champions and CFB Playoff Champions be counted. Other ‘claimed’ championships could still be recognized, but not given equal credence.

For the record, the Alabama Crimson Tide has 13 Awarded or Won National Championships. The next closest programs are Notre Dame with eight and Oklahoma and Southern Cal with seven each.

What about Alabama Football No. 19 (or in the alternate count) No. 14?

Bama Hammer Contributor – Matt Melton

In Matt’s detailed game preview, he provides the following prediction.

"Expect to see both Stetson Bennett and JT Daniels in this game at quarterback for Georgia, and for the Bulldogs to grab the early lead once again. Expect yet another big game for the Crimson Tide’s passing game with Young and Williams, as well as tight end Jahleel Billingsley playing a key role alongside a few of the Crimson Tide’s other young wideouts. While this game will likely be close at times, expect the Crimson Tide to pull away late, and to claim their second consecutive national championship."
