Graham Crawford

The second of the Crimson Tide’s two JUCO additions at catcher in the offseason is Crawford, also a junior who has spent the first two season’s of his collegiate career at Pearl River Community College (MS).

After appearing in limited action during the shortened 2020 season as a freshman, Crawford slashed a combined .323/.485/.724 across 44 games a year ago, while also adding 15 home runs. An NJCAA Third-Team All-American selection at season’s end, Crawford also stole an impressive 10 stolen bases while driving in 49 runs.

As mentioned previously, the jump from the JUCO ranks to the SEC is a big one, but the switch-hitting Crawford could easily make a big impact for the Crimson Tide in 2022, led by a powerful offensive swing. Expect both Tamez and Crawford to each see a significant number of appearances during the 2022 season.

2022 Season Prediction: .270 AVG, .410 OBP, .500 SLG, .910 OPS, 11 HR, 45 RBI, 7 SB
