Alabama Game Today: Alabama vs. Baylor Line, Prediction, Odds, TV Channel & Live Stream for Basketball Game Jan. 29
By Ronald Evans
Alabama Basketball returns to Coleman Coliseum Saturday afternoon to take on last season’s National Champion, Baylor Bears.
The Crimson Tide is coming off an embarrassing loss against Georgia. It was the Bulldogs’ first SEC win of the season. It was just the sixth win overall for Georgia this season. Prior to beating the Tide the last Georgia win was before Christmas, over Western Carolina. After Alabama opened SEC play with two wins, it has not lost four of its last six games.
Baylor is 18-2 and currently ranked No. 4 in the AP and Coaches Polls. Baylor is the third of last season’s final four teams on the Tide’s tough schedule. The Bears are one of the most solid teams in the nation. They are solid offensively and defensively and are well-coached by Scott Drew.
The Crimson Tide will be short-handed. Darius Miles hurt a knee against Georgia. Fortunately, the injury was not severe but he will sit out Saturday. Juwan Gary has practiced with a mask, after missing the Georgia game. Even with the special mask, any bump to his face will hurt. He is not expected to play more than a few minutes.
The Tide sits at 13-7 and 4-4 in SEC play. The latest NCAA NET rankings have the Tide at No. 24. The Baylor Bears are ranked No. 4 in the NCAA NET rankings.
Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Baylor: Spread, Over/Under

Alabama vs. Baylor Prediction
Ken Pomeroy rates the teams more highly than their NET ranking. KenPom has the Crimson Tide at No. 19 and Baylor at No. 2.
The Crimson Tide will have to leap past recent form or risk getting blown out by the Bears. Given the recent struggles and the high-profile opponent, intensity should not be an issue for the Tide. With Gary ailing, Baylor could dominate inside play. Charles Bediako cannot afford to get in foul trouble against a more physically imposing Flo Thamba. The Bears also have a couple of big guards that can cause mismatch problems for the Tide. To balance Baylor’s strengths, the Tide must shoot well outside the arc.
Game Prediction: Baylor Bears 79 – Alabama Crimson Tide 73
