Will Hodo

Alabama Baseball added two freshman to the 2022 infield picture with the first being Hodo, a two-way standout from Wayne Academy in Waynesboro, MS.

One of the top ranked third baseman in the state of Mississippi, Hodo is coming off a phenomenal senior season in which he hit .524 across 35 games, while also posting a 1.36 ERA with 108 strikeouts across 67 IP. The 2021 Mississippi Class 3A Player of the Year, Hodo could see time at third base this season, as well as potentially in the outfield.

2022 Season Prediction: .250 AVG, .380 OBP, .350 SLG, .730 OPS, 1 HR, 8 RBI, 1 SB

Jimmy Thies

The second freshman addition to the Crimson Tide’s infield is Thies, yet another high school third baseman from St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Rated among the top players at the position in Florida, Thies batted .369 with five home runs across 24 games a year ago, also adding 18 RBI’s with 15 walks. Similar to Hodo previously, Thies could see time this season at multiple different positions.
