Alabama Football: Multiple Tide players in the Super Bowl

Alabama football will see a player win a ring

Over the past few years, at least one Alabama football player has won a Super Bowl ring. O.J. Howard didn’t play last year, but he at least won a ring with the Bucs. Gehrig Dieter had a similar situation with the Kansas City Chiefs the year before along with Reggie Ragland, but Ragland made multiple tackles in that game. Warmack won as a starter with the Eagles. The streak spans for almost a decade, and it will continue on Sunday.

Both the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams have multiple Alabama football players on the roster. The Bengals have Damion Square on the practice squad and Jonah Williams as the team’s starting left tackle.

Williams has a crucial job. He is in charge of protecting the blind side of Joe Burrow, who has been under duress all season. While interior pressure has been more of a concern for the Bengals, Williams still needs to play well.

The Rams have Terrell Lewis and A’Shawn Robinson on the roster. Robinson is playing for the Rams in his first year as a starter with the team after playing half of the season in 2020-21. He will be a key piece to the game plan. The Rams need to get pressure on Joe Burrow, and Robinson will be able to do so by playing alongside Aaron Donald. While Lewis is more of a depth piece, anything can happen in the Super Bowl.

The Rams have also played practice squad gymnastics with Carson Tinker. They have routinely cut and signed him. He may be eligible for a ring, but his contribution hasn’t been as noticeable.

All of these players are looking for their first ring since playing for Alabama football. None of them have even played in a Super Bowl before this year. Either way, history will be made for these guys.
