Which team should take Alabama football’s WR1?

The NFL Draft is around the corner, and Alabama football’s Jameson Williams is a hot commodity. Despite his injury, the Alabama football stud should go in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and his speed will set him apart when he makes it to the NFL.

Being a quality receiver in the NFL is all about team fit. You need to play for a team that knows how to use your skills, but you also need them to have a gap on the roster that you can easily fill. Some players take longer to develop because their situation does not fit with what the team is currently looking for.

With that in mind, here are some great team fits for Jameson Williams. When making this list, I focused on team needs mixed with the likelihood of the team drafting him. Williams would be great with the Rams, but he won’t be on the board by the time they draft. I also looked at the draft position, because the value of going early in the first round matters when you look at landing spots.

So, here are my three best team fits.

Los Angeles Chargers, 17th overall

The Chargers have a stud in Justin Herbert, and he knows how to use the weapons around him. However, the future of Mike Williams hangs in the balance this offseason. If they let him walk, adding a young receiver with the ability to stretch the field will be crucial.

For Williams, having a player like Herbert would be amazing. he sets himself apart as a quarterback, and his arm strength remains underrated.

Las Vegas Raiders, 22nd overall

The Raiders have a need at receiver for someone who can stretch the field, so Williams would see playing time early. With a new offensive system, he could work his way into the starting rotation and be a productive deep threat in Las Vegas. Catching passes from Carr is a favorable situation, and his jersey sales would skyrocket with those uniforms.

Kansas City Chiefs, 30th overall

If you want to see Williams shine in the NFL, put him in the most explosive offense. The Chiefs know how to win with speed, and Williams would fit in as a WR2 beside Tyreek Hill. Going 30th overall would cost him some money, but he could make it up in the long run with a great start to his NFL career.

As long as Williams has a competent quarterback, he will succeed. However, these teams would be dream fits for the Alabama football product.
