Alabama Football: NFL Draft fits for Brian Robinson
By Dakota Cox
Alabama football’s Brian Robinson has a great opportunity
Over the past few seasons, Alabama football has put plenty of elite running backs in the NFL. Derrick Henry, Najee Harris, Damien Harris and Josh Jacobs are all slated to start next year, and players like Kenyan Drake and Mark Ingram are key contributors on their rosters.
Brian Robinson is next in line, and he is waiting to see where he will go in the 2022 NFL Draft. The power back will bring value and depth to an NFL team, but where will be thrive?
Before free agency starts, here are some ideal NFL Draft fits for Alabama football’s Brian Robinson.
Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons saw success with Cordarrelle Patterson last year, but he is a free agent. After one year with the Falcons, Patterson will be looking to make more money. The Falcons may retain him, but this is not a guarantee at this point in the offseason.
If the Falcons lose Patterson, they’ll be looking to draft a cheap replacement. They can take Robinson in the later rounds and use him as a quality starter.
Tampa Bay Buccanneers
Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones are both unrestricted free agents, and the Bucs have more pressing matters at the moment. They’ll try to retain players like Ryan Jensen and Chris Godwin before they overpay a running back.
The Bucs need to decide what they’re doing at quarterback, and that will determine if they want to reload or rebuild. Either way, they need to add a running back in the 2022 NFL Draft, and Brian Robinson makes a lot of sense.
Miami Dolphins
This would pair Robinson with former Alabama football quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Mike McDaniel is a run-game genius, but the Dolphins need more weapons in the backfield. Robinson might not be as dynamic as a typical McDaniel running back, but the value in the draft makes plenty of sense.
These three teams all need a running back, and Robinson would make plenty of sense on Day 3 of the 2022 NFL Draft. We’ll see where the Alabama football stud lands.
