Alabama Basketball returns to Coleman Coliseum on Saturday against the South Carolina Gamecocks. The Crimson Tide needs another win to build momentum for post-season play.

South Carolina is 17-10, after four straight wins. Frank Martin’s team has won seven of its last 10 games. The Tide and the Gamecocks are tied in SEC play at 8-7. South Carolina does not have many top wins but in their last two games, they have beaten LSU and Mississippi State. Two of their SEC wins are road wins over Texas A&M and Georgia.

Alabama sits at 18-10 and 8-7 in SEC play, coming off Tuesday night’s win over Vanderbilt.

The latest NCAA NET rankings have the Tide at No. 23. South Carolina is ranked No. 88.  KenPom has the Crimson Tide at No. 23 and the Gamecocks at No. 91.

Just like all of Frank Martin’s teams, South Carolina always plays hard, with a physical style that challenges other teams. For South Carolina, the game is as important as it is for Alabama.

Alabama Crimson Tide vs. South Carolina: Spread, Over/Under

According to WynnBET, the Crimson Tide is an 11-point favorite. The Moneyline is Alabama -600 and South Carolina +450. The Over/Under is at 154.0 points.

Alabama vs. South Carolina Prediction

Hopefully, playing at home, the Crimson Tide will not open the game with a turnover eruption as it did in Nashville. The Crimson Tide has not made threes at better than 33.3% in Coleman this season. In its last three home games, from outside the arc, Alabama has shot 10%, 24.1% and 20%. When it has won, it has been from strong two-point shooting, excellent foul shooting and rebounding. Unfortunately, it is No. 13 in the SEC in opponent free throw attempts. The good news for Saturday is South Carolina is the worst free-throw shooting team in the SEC.

A disciplined Crimson Tide might cover the spread but the game pick is …
