Alabama Game Tonight: Alabama vs. Texas A&M Line, Prediction, Odds, TV Channel & Live Stream for Basketball Game Mar. 2
By Ronald Evans
Alabama Basketball is at home Wednesday night against the Texas A&M Aggies. A win by the Crimson Tide would lock down an NCAA Tournament 5-seed and leave the door open for a 4-seed on Selection Sunday.
The Aggies are18-11, with wins in three in their last four games. Buzz Williams’ team was 15-2 and 4-0 in the SEC on Jan. 15. That was followed by a streak of eight losses, from which they have not fully recovered. They are now 7-9 in SEC play.
Alabama sits at 19-10 and 9-7 in SEC play, coming off Saturday’s win over the South Carolina Gamecocks.
The latest NCAA NET rankings have the Tide at No. 22. The Aggies are ranked No. 66. KenPOM has the Crimson Tide at No. 21 and Texas A&M at No. 66.
The Aggies are better than their record indicates. Three of their losses came against Kentucky, Arkansas and LSU by a combined 15 points. The loss to the Hogs was at Bud Walton in overtime.
Statistically, the Aggies’ weaknesses are rebounding, free-throw shooting and team defense. They have been good at causing opponent turnovers. In conference play, the Aggies lead the SEC in steals. Given the Crimson Tide’s sometimes looseness with the basketball, Tide turnovers could make the game tighter than it should be.
Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Texas A&M: Spread, Over/Under
According to WynnBET, the Crimson Tide is a 9.5-point favorite. The Moneyline is Alabama -500 and Texas A&M +375. The Over/Under is at 153.0 points.
Alabama vs. Texas A&M Prediction
The Aggies hold on to NCAA Tournament hopes. What they need to have a chance to make the Big Dance is a road win over a Quad 1 team. Wednesday night’s game gives them that opportunity. If they can close the regular season with two wins and pick up two more in the SEC Tournament, 22-12 might get them a Big Dance play-in game.
Given the NCAA Tournament possibilities, the Aggies need the win more than does the Crimson Tide.
