Which Alabama football players will go early in the 2022 NFL Draft?
We are less than a week away from the 2022 NFL Draft, and Alabama football stars are about to learn where they will begin their NFL careers. However, this is set to be one of the most unpredictable drafts of recent memory. No one knows what to expect after the first pick, and there is still a chance the Jaguars will shock us all at the beginning.
The draft may be unpredictable, but the best way to get information is to see what is being reported. Media members have sources in every front office, and they are gather intel to help predict what will happen. It may not always be accurate, but it’s the closest Alabama football fans can get before the draft.
So, what are NFL Draft experts saying about the upcoming event?
Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network covers the draft all year. In his latest mock draft, he had Evan Neal going to the Panthers and Jameson Williams going to the Patriots. Like most mock drafts, only two Tide players were selected. Jeremiah also has Christian Harris on his list of the 50 best players.
Tom Fornelli of CBS has the most recent mock draft posted, and he predicted that the Texans would draft Evan Neal third overall. This appears to be his ceiling as a prospect. However, more members of the media are ranking Ikem Ekwonu over Neal, which could cause him to slide to the Giants, Jets or Seahawks.
Fornelli also had Jameson Williams going 10th overall as the second receiver drafted. If he falls, teams like the Eagles, Saints and Chargers seem poised to draft him. Teams like the Chiefs or Packers could also trade up for Williams.
Some view Williams as the best receiver in the NFL Draft. He certainly has the most upside with his speed, and injury concerns have not impacted his stock.
