Where will Alabama football’s best be drafted?
The 2022 NFL Draft is this week, and Alabama football fans will soon learn where their favorite players will go. Two stars will likely go on Thursday, and many will follow over the next six rounds.
Practically every team could use a franchise left tackle with elite physical traits like Evan Neal. Teams are also requiring speed, which is why Jameson Williams has a chance of being the first wide receiver drafted in the 2022 NFL Draft.
So, here is another 2022 NFL mock draft without trades. This is not what I would do, but this is what I think will happen on Thursday night.
1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan
2. Detroit Lions: Keyvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon
3. Houston Texans: Ikem Ekwonu, OT, NC State
4. New York Jets: Travon Walker, EDGE, Georgia
5. New York Giants: Evan Neal, OT, Alabama
There are rumors swirling that the Giants may fall in love with Charles Cross, and they’ve been known to show their hand in the past. However, I think Neal’s athletic gifts at his size are too good to avoid. That’s why I have them sticking with him with the fifth overall pick.
6. Carolina Panthers: Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State
7. New York Giants: Sauce Gardner, CB, Cincinnati
8. Atlanta Falcons: Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State
9. Seattle Seahawks: Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU
10. New York Jets: Drake London, WR, USC
11. Washington Commanders: Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame
12. Minnesota Vikings: Jordan Davis, IDL, Georgia
13. Houston Texans: Jermaine Johnson, EDGE, Florida State
14. Baltimore Ravens: Zion Johnson, IOL, Boston College
15. Philadelphia Eagles: Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama
Alabama football will almost certainly see two players drafted in the first round. While some expect Jameson Williams to be the first receiver drafted, I see him slipping to a team like the Eagles. This would pair Williams with another former Alabama football receiver and a quarterback who needs a deep threat in the offense.
16. New Orleans Saints: Malik Willis, QB, Liberty
17. Los Angeles Chargers: Trevor Penning, OT, Northern Iowa
18. Philadelphia Eagles: George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue
19. New Orleans Saints: Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State
20. Pittsburgh Steelers: Kenny PIckett, QB, Pittsburgh
21. New England Patriots: Kenyon Green, IOL, Texas A&M
22. Green Bay Packers: Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas
23. Arizona Cardinals: Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington
24. Dallas Cowboys: Boye Mafe, EDGE, Minnesota
25. Buffalo Bills: Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida
26. Tennessee Titans: Devin Lloyd, LB, Utah
27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Daxton Hill, S, Michigan
28. Green Bay Packers: Devonte Wyatt, IDL, Georgia
29. Kansas City Chiefs: Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State
30. Kansas City Chiefs: Andrew Booth, CB, Clemson
31. Cincinnati Bengals: Tyler Linderbaum, IOL, Iowa
32. Detroit Lions: Lewis Cine, S, Georgia
After this, the best Alabama football players on the board would be Christian Harris, Phil Mathis and John Metchie. They all have a chance to go in the second round.
