Alabama Football: Best players still available in NFL Draft
By Dakota Cox
Who is left for Alabama football?
The 2022 NFL Draft is almost halfway through, and six Alabama football players were drafted in the first three rounds. Two went in the first 12 picks, and fans saw key contributors on both sides of the ball get drafted on Day 2.
The Commanders took two Alabama football players, and so did the Texans. The Lions and Giants each have a Tide star joining their franchises. Still, we have three rounds of drafting to see where everyone else goes.
Alabama football still has a handful of players who have a chance of being drafted in this year’s NFL Draft. Here are the best players still available.
Jalyn Armour-Davis, CB
JAD only started one year with Alabama football, so it is easy to see why he is available in the fourth round. Still, he has room to grow in the NFL and has some great athletic traits. That will set him apart. He can contribute on special teams as he works to become a contributing cornerback for whoever drafts him.
Chris Allen, EDGE
Chris Allen was a great recruit, and he was a great Alabama football player when he was healthy. Unfortunately, he suffered a ton of injuries. That limited his ability to see the field, and it pushed him down draft boards. If he can stay healthy, he will be an elite pass rusher who can force fumbles.
Josh Jobe, CB
Jobe never shined as an outside corner for Alabama football, but he was a top prospect. He will be drafted, and he has a chance to develop his traits. He’s the type of project on Day 3 that is worth taking a risk on.
LaBryan Ray, IDL
Ray is another prospect with an injury history. He never contributed for the Tide, but he may find a way to piece things together in the NFL if he can stay healthy.
You also have players like Chris Owens and Slade Bolden. If they go undrafted, they will likely make a practice squad next year.
