Alabama Football: Tide’s 2023 NFL Draft prospects
By Dakota Cox
Alabama football will be stacked in 2023
The 2022 draft class saw seven Alabama football players drafted, but the best players returned to the team. On offense and defense, Alabama is poised for another title run.
The 2022 class was solid, but we will see plenty of great Alabama football players go early in the 2023 NFL Draft. It may be way too early to look ahead, but here are Alabama’s top prospects for next year’s draft.
Bryce Young, Quarterback
Obviously, Young is at the top of the list. He could be the first player of the Nick Saban era to play for Alabama football and be drafted first overall. We’ve had plenty of candidates, but none have broken through.
The 2022 quarterback class was abysmal, and teams will be looking for franchise quarterbacks in 2023. Young can be just that.
Will Anderson, EDGE
If a team has a solid quarterback but still ends the year with the first overall pick, they will either trade back or draft Will Anderson. Anderson is on the same level as Chase Young and the Bosa brothers. He may be the best defensive player Alabama football has seen in the past two decades, and that is not hyperbole.
Eli Ricks, Cornerback
Ricks hasn’t played a down for Alabama football outside of the spring game, but he is going to be one of the best players on the roster. He has elite ball skills, and he could become a first-round draft pick with a solid Tide season.
Henry To’o To’o, Inside Linebacker
To’o To’o could have been a second-round pick in the 2022 class, but another year as the leader of the Tide defense should boost his draft stock. To’o To’o is an elite talent, and the only thing that will push him down draft boards is teams devaluing the inside linebacker position.
We’ll also see stars like Jordan Battle, Jahmyr Gibbs and others in the class, but these are the top prospects right now.
