By Ronald Evans
Based on the 247Sports Composite, the Alabama football 2023 class calculation is currently 289.32. The all-time record for the Crimson Tide is 327.76 for the 2021 class. Only one class in college football has been better. That was Texas A&M, when their 2022 class was calculated at 328.59.
Alabama Football Recruiting Bold Prediction No. 1
Alabama will set a new team record with the 2023 class. Using the 247Sports class calculator tool, let’s see where the Crimson Tide will stand after adding its most probable additions.
- 5-Star, Edge – Keon Keeley (flip from Notre Dame)
- 4-Star, Offensive Lineman – Miles McVay
- 5-Star, Defensive Lineman – James Smith
- 4-Star, Linebacker – Sunterine Perkins (flip from Ole Miss)
- 3-Star, Wide Receiver – Jaren Hamilton
Using the calculator, the new points total after the five additions would be 314.80.
Getting to the CFB all-time record
Alabama Football will not be finished after adding five more verbal commits. There will be more. An estimate is Nick Saban will have room for five more in the 2023 class. There is no class limitation in this cycle but nothing has changed in the 85 scholarship limit.
Alabama Football Recruiting Bold Prediction No. 2
Adding the six players below (minus one from above) would give the Alabama Crimson Tide an all-time, program recruiting record, and surpass the record set last season by Texas A&M for the top recruiting class of all time.
- 5-Star, Cornerback – Cormani McClain
- 5-Star, Edge – Jaquavious Russaw
- 4-Star, Offensive Lineman – Monroe Freeling
- 4-Star, Defensive Lineman – Kelby Collins
- 4-Star, Wide Receiver – Jalen Hale (instead of Jaren Hamilton)
- 5-Star, Defensive Lineman – Peter Woods (flip from Clemson)
The 28-player total reaches an astounding 331.53. Take away the Peter Woods flip from Clemson and the 27-player total is still a new record at 329.37.
The most recent developments are about 4-Star, defensive lineman, Daevin Hobbs and Florida commit, 4-Star cornerback, Sharif Denson. Hobbs has zoomed up the recruiting lists from the No. 217 player overall, to now No. 138. This post will be updated as new verbal commits are added and as new recruiting developments take place.
