As kickoff approaches, we continue our 2022 NFL season preview series here at Bama Hammer by taking a look at the former Alabama Football players in the AFC South (NOTE: John Metchie III (Houston Texans) will not play this season).

Alabama Football in the NFL 2022 Season Preview: AFC South

Christian Harris – Houston Texans

2021 Stats: NA

Selected with the No. 75 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans, Harris enters his rookie season in the NFL this fall.

As for what that rookie season could look like, Harris likely enters 2022 as the backup middle linebacker for the Texans, behind only Christian Kirksey on the depth chart. Harris should see a notable amount of action in 2022 however, a year in which the rookie could potentially emerge into a larger role as the season goes along.

Tony Brown – Indianapolis Colts

2021 Stats: DNP

After not seeing time a year ago, Brown enters the 2022 season with Indianapolis after the former Crimson Tide defensive back signed with the Colts as a free agent during the offseason.

Entering 2022, Brown is most likely a depth option for the Colts at the cornerback position, as well as a name to watch for on special teams. As for the likeliest role for Brown in 2022, it feels like the former Alabama defensive back will be a piece of Indianapolis’ special teams group.
