Alabama football linebacker Will Anderson Jr. took college football by storm in 2021. He was arguably the best overall player in college football, and the phenom was only a true sophomore.

He returns for his third (and likely final) season in Tuscaloosa, and Alabama fans expect him to have a record-breaking campaign.

Many believe that Anderson Jr. was slighted in the Heisman voting last season and expect him to avenge the snub in his junior season. It would be incredible to see an outside linebacker bring home the Heisman trophy, and it would be equally unprecedented to see Alabama football claim its third straight Heisman at three different positions.

While I fully expect Anderson Jr. to take his rightful place as a finalist at the 2022 Heisman presentation, I do not expect him to become the first linebacker to actually take home the hardware.

If Anderson Jr. doesn’t win the 2022 Heisman, his talent and motor will not be contributing factors. The Terminator was at the top of every opposing offense’s scouting report last season and still proved to be unblockable. On the field, Anderson Jr. will take care of business once again.

Will Anderson Jr. would have to be the clear choice and in a stratosphere of his own to even have a chance at the award. Considering the talented crop of quarterbacks returning to college football in 2022, this just doesn’t seem likely.
