Alabama Football Breakout Players on Offense

WR Jermaine Burton

The transfer portal floodgates have been blown wide open. The tremendous success of Jameson Williams in just one year with the Crimson Tide is proof to any player that if you have the ability, you will get the notoriety you deserve in Tuscaloosa, AL!

Jermaine Burton saw what Williams did in 2021 and decided, ‘I want that too.’ The former Georgia Bulldog – who started 15 games in two seasons under Kirby Smart – arrives to fill the void left by both Williams and Metchie.

Burton had 53 receptions for 901 yards and eight touchdowns with UGA and he still has two years of eligibility left if he chooses to hang around.

Burton might not have the same flashy speed as Jameson Williams, but he certainly has all the pieces to be a great wide receiver with a great QB. Going from Stetson Bennett IV to Bryce Young is a significant upgrade in every right, leading me to believe Jermaine Burton will be a star with the Crimson Tide.

He is a great route runner, a quick learner as described by Nick Saban, and is hungry to prove he is an NFL-caliber wideout.

The Alabama football wide receiving group might feature more guys and more rotation, but Burton should be the go-to guy. I not only expect him to lead the team in catches, but surpass his career totals with Georgia in his first season with Alabama.
