Guard Emil Ekiyor Jr.

Now that Evan Neal is gone, Emil Ekiyor Jr. is the next great Alabama football, offensive lineman. A redshirt senior and a starter in every game the last two seasons, Ekiyor Jr. will be the leader on a far-improved O-line.

Ekiyor Jr. said earlier this summer that the participation trophy the coaching staff has in the facility from last year’s national championship game loss is the motivation for both veterans and newcomers.

Ekiyor Jr. makes this list not just because of his incredible blocking ability, but because of his leadership. Emil is making a difference off the field too.

Ekiyor’s leadership will be crucial this season as the O-line will feature only one returning starter center Darrin Dalcourt. The new-look offensive line will feature former tight end, Kendall Randolph, at left guard, Vanderbilt transfer Tyler Steen at left tackle, and Ekiyor’s good friend JC Latham at right tackle.

Ekiyor Jr. mentioned this Alabama team had “unfinished business” to attend to after last year’s disappointing ending. His leadership will be crucial in helping the offense reach its true potential.
