Takeaway No. 5 – Bryce Young is better than last season

After the game, Nick Saban spoke about his QB star,

"I thought he played really, really well."

It is only week one, but Saban’s review of Young could hold up as the biggest understatement of the 2022 season.

Bryce Young is the coolest guy on any football field in any game. He is a gifted athlete but not a physically dominating one. His calm demeanor covers a coldly calculating ability to out-think defenses. The overused description of the game ‘slowing down’ for players should be reserved for Bryce. There is no better QB in college football this year – and maybe any other year.

Bryce creates celebrations for himself and his teammates by regularly being the most clear-headed and calmly optimistic guy on the field.

dark. Next. Bryce to assert himself

One final ‘maybe takeaway’ is about James Burnip. His second punt of the season was blocked. His first and only other one was for 51 yards. Alabama football fans can be encouraged.
