Alabama Football: Seven bold predictions for Texas game
By Ronald Evans
Bold is a word to describe Alabama Football. It is especially apt when describing the expectations of Alabama Crimson Tide fans. Most Alabama football fans expect victory after victory every season leading to a National Championship game.
In the Nick Saban Era of Crimson Tide football, such bold expectations have been realistic. So when making bold predictions for a game, moving beyond everyday bold is required.
When the last drop of sweat has fallen on the field at Darrell K. Royal Memorial Stadium Saturday, Alabama will have soundly beaten the Texas Longhorns. Below are seven bold reasons why.
Alabama Football vs. Texas Bold Prediction No. 1
Texas has a great football player in running back, Bijan Robinson. He is a powerful runner and also a receiving threat. Pete Golding will not let Bijan Robinson beat the Tide. Alabama will put the burden for a Texas win on unproven QB, Quinn Ewers. Not every play, but in certain situations, the Tide will spy Robinson. It will not always be the same Crimson Tide defender. It will be effective. Bijan will rush for less than 80 yards and catch passes for no more than 20 yards.
Bold Prediction No. 2
With the talented cover guys in the Crimson Tide secondary focusing on Xavier Worthy, the leading receiver for Texas will be tight end, Ja’Tavion Sanders. Texas wide receiver, Jordan Whittington will also have more receptions than Worthy.
