Bold Prediction No. 5

Bryce Young and his receiving corps will light up the Texas defense. The only way Young passes for less than 350 yards will be because he plays only three quarters. Young will spread the ball around as usual, while adding a recovered Cam Latu to his long list of receiving threats. Even with player rotation, at least two Crimson Tide receivers will shine and one will be a freshman.

Bold Prediction No. 6

Linghorns’ field goal kicker, Bert Auburn (yes that really is his name) will make the second field goal of his career on Saturday. He only has two two career attempts. He will also miss one before Texas falls too far behind to catch up with field goals.

Bold Prediction No. 7

Alabama football fans have longed for a return to Tuscaloosa by former Crimson Tide assistant Bo Davis. Davis coached some outstanding defensive linemen during his two stints working for Nick Saban. Much of his success came from being a top recruiter. To some Alabama fans, he was Saban’s best defensive line coach, who they never stop hoping will coach for Saban again.

Last season, The Texas defensive line struggled in pass pressure. Most of them returned for 2022 and they should be improved, but not enough to cause the Tide offense major problems. The ‘Bo Davis Mystique’ will come crashing down in Austin on Saturday.

Check-in later with Bama Hammer, for a somewhat more serious, game score prediction.
