Bold Prediction No. 4

In four, 2022 games, Vanderbilt has thrown only one interception. Vandy will need to throw a larger number of passes against the Crimson Tide. It is expected the quarterback making those throws will be true freshman, AJ Swann. The inexperienced QB has thrown 46 passes in his short college career. He has six touchdown passes and zero interceptions. That will change Saturday night, as the Crimson Tide picks him off, at least twice.

Bold Prediction No. 5

How much Vandy has improved over last season will be seen against the Crimson Tide. Last season, the Dores scored a total of six points against Georgia, Florida and Mississippi State. Later in the 2021 season, against weaker defenses, the Commodore offense was far more productive. This season, skipping the opener against a very poor Hawaii team, in their two other wins, the Dores have averaged 40 points. They scored 25 points in a loss to Wake Forest.

I predict, against a defense that is nothing like anything the Dores have seen, Vandy fails to score a touchdown.

Bold Prediction No. 6

Looking at the SEC quarterback stats for Bryce Young, suggests the Heisman Trophy winner is an average SEC QB. Young is no average quarterback, but his passing production this season places him at No. 7 in the SEC. The guys immediately above and below Bryce, South Carolina’s Spencer Rattler and Missouri’s Brady Cook only excite opposing defenses.

Bryce Young’s modest passing yards average of 214.7 yards per game will get a big boost against Vandy. Mark Bryce down for at least 350 passing yards.

Next. Vandy is not the SEC's worst team. dark

For a Saturday score prediction, I’ll take Alabama 55, and by way of two leg whips from former Crimson Tider, Joseph Bulovas, the Dores score six points.
