Now comes the subjective part. Alabama football fans will not mind, but no doubt my conclusions are shaped by a crimson-tinted view. If for no other reason, because of having watched Bryce Young so much more than the others, my rankings have some bias.

In addition, I understand the few weaknesses of Bryce Young in relation to Alabama Crimson Tide team weaknesses, primarily inexperienced receivers.

I claim no comparable level of insight into other SEC quarterbacks and their teams. All the player rankings below Bryce are based only on 2022 individual quarterback data.

Alabama Football and Bryce Young top the rankings

  1. Bryce Young (Alabama)
  2. Hendon Hooker (Tennessee)
  3. Will Rogers (Mississippi State)
  4. KJ Jefferson (Arkansas)
  5. Stetson Bennett (Georgia)
  6. Jayden Daniels (LSU)
  7. Will Levis (Kentucky)
  8. Anthony Richardson (Florida)
  9. Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss)
  10. Spencer Rattler (South Carolina)
  11. Brady Cook (Missouri)
  12. Max Johnson (Texas A&M)
  13. AJ Swann (Vanderbilt) or Mike Wright (Vandy)
  14. Robby Ashford or TJ Finley (Auburn)

An additional note is a sense Brady Cook, AJ Swann and Robby Ashford have potential not indicated by their ranking. If they do, it will be difficult to achieve unless their teams improve considerably.

After two or three more game weeks, this ranking will be updated. By then it should be easier to rate the SEC quarterbacks.
