Alabama Football Duds

Turnovers

Milroe’s inexperience gave the Aggies three turnovers (two fumbles and one interception), plus a Jase McClellan fumble provided the Aggies with seventeen points to remain in the game. Cleaning up the turnovers is needed as the Crimson Tide faces better opponents.

Missed Field Goals

I never thought that this area would ever become a dud with Will Reichard’s consistent kicking. Unfortunately, he missed two field goals Saturday night. The first miss occurred after Milroe took an awful quarterback sack pushing the field goal to 47 yards. Additionally, his second miss came from 35 yards, usually a gimme from him. He will bounce back from this and play better for the remainder of the season.

Passing game

The offense did not fire on all cylinders without Bryce Young. The hulking freshman threw for three touchdowns, but it did not look or feel the same as when Young is under center.

Milroe finished with 111 yards on the day, which will not win many games in today’s game with hyper offenses. Hopefully, offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien goes back to the drawing board and figures out more ways to tweak the passing game under Milroe.

Next. Hats off to the Crimson Tide Defense. dark

Alabama football heads to Knoxville next Saturday for another heated rivalry against the upstart Tennessee Volunteers.
