Alabama Football: Gameday viewing, betting, a prediction and more
By Ronald Evans
Another Alabama Football matchup with the Starkville Bullies brings two givens. One is the obnoxious sounds of rattling cowbells will be heard in Bryant-Denny. The other given is the final result is not in doubt.
ESPN has the game this week and its top broadcast team of Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Todd McShay and Holly Rowe will do the game. The game will be streamed on multiple platforms, including fuboTV.
Radio coverage will be provided by the Crimson Tide Sports Network (CTSN) with Chris Stewart, John Parker Wilson, Christian Miller and Roger Hoover. Along with the CTSN’s many radio stations, it can also be heard on Sirius/XM/SXM 111 or 191/962.
The 6:00 PM CST game is expected to kick off at 6:05 PM CST.
Going into the 107th game between the two programs, Alabama Football leads the series, 86-17-3. The Alabama Crimson Tide’s current winning streak over Mississippi State is 14 games.
The point spread on Friday night, according to FanDuel was the Crimson Tide as a 21-point favorite. The over/under was 60.5 points and the Moneyline was Alabama -1700 and Mississippi State +890.
Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change
On Friday, we published some in-depth information from a Mississippi State expert. He thought Mississippi State has receivers that can cause the Tide problems. He also gave the Bulldogs little or no chance of winning. He was confident Mike Leach’s offense would produce touchdowns. If it does, they will be the first touchdowns scored on the Crimson Tide by one of his Mississippi State teams.
The Tuscaloosa weather at kickoff is expected to be cloudy and 72 degrees, with a light wind. Skies will clear during the game with the temperature dropping into the low 60s.
Final Alabama Football Game Prediction
As Zach Breathwaite wrote earlier this week, the game will be the Crimson Tide’s first step toward redemption. Mississippi State is unfortunate to be in the way. I agree the Bulldogs will finally score a touchdown, but not much more, with an Alabama football defense determined to atone.
If the game does not go as expected, it will only be because State, as it often does, gains a big advantage in turnover margin.
My score prediction is 41-13 Crimson Tide over the Bulldogs.

On the potential for Tide turnovers, State’s Emmanuel Forbes leads the SEC with five interceptions. He has returned two for touchdowns.
