In case you haven’t heard, the Alabama football team has an incredibly important game this Saturday. The Tide takes on the Tigers in Baton Rouge @ 6 P.M. central time. Alabama could go a long way to securing a trip to Atlanta with a win against Brian Kelly’s Bayou Bengals. It’s a long time to wait for such an important game and if you’re not careful your wife could try to help you pass the time with things like apple picking, raking the yard, or getting a jump on putting up your Christmas decorations. Luckily, we’ve compiled a list of games that could have an impact on the Alabama Football season and are therefore essential viewing. It’s not that you want to watch them, but you HAVE to for the sake of the team. Thank us later!

Morning Session

11:00 Florida @ Texas A&M (ESPN)

In what many are already calling the “Sadness Bowl”, well that’s what I’m calling it, Florida rolls into College Station after scaring Georgia for about 30 minutes. The Gators are still trying to find their footing under Billy Napier and could get back on track this Saturday. You might say things are going up in smoke for Texas A&M. The Aggies are really struggling for Jimbo Fisher who may be in real trouble if the Aggies lose a 5th straight game setting up a potential “Buyout Bowl” next week against Auburn.

11:00 Texas Tech @ TCU (FOX)

The TCU Horned Frogs could pose a potential problem for Alabama as the season continues. It’s hard to fathom the Playoff Committee keeping a one-loss SEC Champion out of the playoff, but in today’s world, anything is possible. An undefeated BIG 12 championship team could make Alabama the odd man out. In reality, TCU’s best chances of losing will be the next two weeks when they travel to Texas and Baylor, but why put off to tomorrow what you could get done today? Go Red Raiders!

The Afternoon Slot

2:30 Tennessee @ Georgia (CBS)

This is the game that will have the most eyeballs on it, and for good reason. For the first time in history, #1 plays #1. Tennessee is currently #1 in the Playoff Rankings and Georgia is #1 in the AP poll. For Alabama football fans, this game has huge implications if the Tide continues to handle their business as the winner of this is practically assured of the SEC East crown.

3:00 Liberty @ Arkansas (SEC Network)

Time to do a little advance scouting. Hugh Freeze is the odds-on favorite to become the next head coach on the Plains. The word out of Auburn is that they want a proven winner who has ties to the SEC and can compete in the SEC West. Freeze gets a dress rehearsal against an Arkansas team that is starting to get healthy again.

During Commercials of the Alabama Football Game

6:30 Clemson @ Notre Dame (NBC)

This may be wishful thinking but there is a chance that the Golden Domers could take down Dabo Swinney and the Tigers. Clemson has a bit of a QB controversy brewing and Marcus Freeman quietly has the Irish playing better football after their horrendous start. Notre Dame is currently 18th in ESPN’s FPI rankings. A loss here, would make Clemson irrelevant in the College Football Playoff picture and cement the ACC’s place as the worst Power 5 conference this year. Good for you PAC-12!

6:30 Auburn @ Miss State (ESPN 2)

Much like a train wreck, it’s hard to look away from this one. After a tumultuous week on the Plains, Auburn gets back on the gridiron under Interim Head Coach Carnell “Cadillac” Williams. Seeing how the Tigers respond to not only the events of the week but also the leadership of Williams makes for great theater. Add in the human sound bite machine that is Mike Leach and this becomes must-see primetime TV. Look at that, only one week, post-Harsin and Auburn is already watchable again!

A great day for college football and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
