Alabama has been rolling in SEC play, 5-0 and fresh off a 40-point drubbing of LSU at home over the weekend, 106-66.

Can the team keep their level at Vanderbilt on Tuesday night, who is 2-2 in league play and was able to score a home upset against Arkansas, 97-84 on Saturday.

Here are the odds for this SEC matchup:

Alabama vs. Vanderbilt odds, spread and total

Alabama vs. Vanderbilt prediction and pick

From a strictly statistical perspective, there is a lot of value getting Alabama at -7.5 or -8.5 which are both available. Alabama is 2nd in possessions per game, 43rd in offensive efficiency and 17th in defensive efficiency. The Crimson Tide are No. 4 on KenPom, 84 spots higher than the Vanderbilt Commodores. They’re the more talented team and are betting in just about every statistical category, and yet there’s no way I’m betting them to cover tonight given the ongoing Darius Miles situation and with the betting market this high on them, laying nearly double digits on the road.

I also don’t want to bet against them either, they are still the much better basketball team, instead I’ll take the under in this one. Vanderbilt is happy to play at a slow pace and the total is still very high as if Alabama is going to be playing their A game tonight.
