Alabama Crimson Tide: Latest Big Dance Bracketology

For the Alabama Crimson Tide fans counting down the days until Match Madness, Selection Sunday, the number as of Jan. 27, is 43 days. Big Dance bracket projections will include many changes, but it is not too far out for them to be interesting.
In this Alabama Crimson Tide Bracketology, only two sources are used to review seeding. They are ESPN’s Joe Lunardi and CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm. The closer we get to Selection Sunday, we’ll add some other bracketologists, who in recent years have sometimes been more accurate than Lunardi and Palm.

It is almost dizzying, but not crazy to discuss Alabama and legitimate National Championship chances. Check out some interesting data in the tweet below.
After looking at Ken Pomeroy’s always-important, current calculations, there are now 10 teams that reach the recent history standard for a National Championship team. They are the Alabama Crimson Tide and (in no certain order) Purdue, Houston, UConn, Virginia, UCLA, Creighton, Kansas, St. Mary’s and Tennessee.
Who will win it all?
One source providing National Championship odds for every Division One team is Team Rankings. Based on their algorithm, 28 teams have at least a 1% chance to become the next college basketball National Champion. Only four teams have a higher chance than 4%. They are UCLA at 6%, Houston at 12%, Tennessee at 19%, and the Alabama Crimson Tide at 12%.
