SEC Basketball: SEC Standings and SEC Tournament Matchups

facebooktwitterreddit

There are two weeks left in the SEC Basketball regular season. All 14 teams have four more regular season games to play. Technically, four teams still have a chance to win the SEC Regular Season Championship.

Alabama Basketball and Texas A&M are in a tight battle to win the regular season. If, and it is a big IF, the Crimson Tide and the Aggies were to collapse, and if Kentucky and Tennessee won their four remaining games; the SEC Regular Season could be tied, by three or four, 13-5 teams.

Current SEC Basketball Regular Season Standings

  • Alabama Crimson Tide; 13-1
  • Texas A&M Aggies; 12-2
  • Kentucky Wildcats; 9-5
  • Tennessee Volunteers; 9-5
  • Vanderbilt Commodores; 8-6
  • Auburn Tigers; 8-6
  • Arkansas Razorbacks; 7-7
  • Florida Gators; 7-7

  • Georgia Bulldogs; 6-8
  • Mississippi State Bulldogs; 6-8

The list above incorporates the SEC’s tie-breakers for seeding the SEC Tournament. For example, Vanderbilt and Auburn are tied at 8-6. The Commodores get the higher, No. 5 seed because of beating Auburn on Saturday night. Next. Georgia should have stayed in Athens. dark

Double SEC Championships, Regular Season, and Tournament are important goals for the Crimson Tide. But this season, even more important is what follows in the Big Dance. Losing out on either of the double championships would be unfortunate, but success in the NCAA Tournament could erase such letdowns.
