Amid controversy within the program, can Alabama keep its focus and continue to dominate and hold on to the top spot in the conference?

Let’s dive into the odds for the game and then I’ll give you my best bet.

Alabama vs. South Carolina odds, spread, and total

Alabama vs. South Carolina prediction and pick

There’s going to be a lot of people betting against Alabama tonight because of the potential distraction in the program, but I’m going to focus on the numbers and I can’t help but back the Crimson Tide.

Let’s start at something as obvious as shooting. Alabama is eighth in the country in effective field goal percentage while South Carolina ranks 328th. The Gamecocks are one of the worst shooting teams in the country.

It’s also important to note that while both teams are three-point shooting squads, Alabama is a lot more efficient at defending the three ball, ranking second in college basketball in opponent three-point FG%, keeping teams to shooting 26.4% from beyond the arc.

Alabama is going to get plenty of second chance scoring opportunities tonight as well. They’re 39th in offensive rebounding rate while South Carolina is 329th in defensive rebounding rate.

Those second chance scoring chances will be enough for the Crimson Tide to cover this big spread.
