Alabama football NFL Draft bust No. 10: Siran Stacy

1992 NFL Draft, Round 2, Pick 48
Philadelphia Eagles, 1992

Siran Stacy is this low on the list, thanks in large part to the fact that he’s also the only one that wasn’t drafted in the first round. Having said that, there were big hopes for the former Alabama football running back after he had a couple of great years with the Crimson Tide following starting his college career with Coffeyville Community College.

With the Tide, Stacy ran for 2,113 yards and 27 touchdowns. He also hauled down 62 receptions for 574 yards.

When the Philadelphia Eagles drafted him, it was thought his ability to make plays as a receiver would help make him a successful NFL weapon.

Instead, he appeared in just one game in his rookie season. The Eagles released him in the offseason and any chance that he could find some success with another franchise after an arrest for theft outside of a Walmart.

Stacy eventually found some professional football success, first in the CFL and NFL Europe. He’s even the leading career rusher for the Scottish Claymores. However, when it comes to a former Alabama football player making good in the National Football League and rewarding his fans by showing out after being drafted in the second round, Stacy is a big bust.
