Alabama football NFL Draft bust No. 5: Chance Warmack

2013 NFL Draft, Round 1, Pick 10
Tennessee Titans, 2013-2016
Philadelphia Eagles, 2017-2018

When the Tennessee Titans took Chance Warmack with the 10th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, they probably thought they had found themselves quite the road-grader-type offensive lineman that would help their offense keep humming for years to come.

Unfortunately, the Alabama football star, who was the second of three Crimson Tide players that were drafted right in a row in the ninth, tenth, and eleventh spots in the 2013 draft, happens to be one of three ‘Bama players that didn’t live up to the hype.

Warmack was a massive disappointment, but as you’ll read later, he wasn’t actually the biggest bust of the bunch. Warmack was just the second interior offensive lineman taken in the first round in almost two decades, which tells you just how high expectations were for the young man when the Titans selected him.

There were early reports that the player who had been lauded for toughness during his Alabama football playing days looked slower and less durable once he landed in the NFL. Despite being a starter in his first three years in the league, he suffered a hand injury in his fourth season and was soon cut loose.

Warmack never bounced back, playing in just 20 games and starting just three in his final two years in the league with the Philadelphia Eagles.
