Alabama football NFL Draft bust No. 3: Dee Milliner

2013 NFL Draft, Round 1, Pick 9
New York Jets, 2013-2015

Considered by many as the top cornerback prospect in the nation in the 2010 recruiting class, Dee Milliner went from being a Freshman All-American to a unanimous All-American during his three years with the Alabama football team. When it was time to move to the next level, it appeared that he was going to show what it had to take to dominate in the National Football League.

At least that’s what the New York Jets thought when they took him with the 9th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Thinking they had a heck of a defensive backfield with Antonio Cromartie on the other side of the secondary. Unfortunately, it didn’t take long at all for the Jets to realize how badly overmatched he was going to be at that level.

Milliner did have a decent rookie campaign. He started 12 games and played in 12. He logged three interceptions in his rookie campaign as well.

However, Milliner played in just eight games in his next two seasons. He was out of the league three years after he was selected in the first round. That easily ranks him among the biggest draft busts for Alabama football players.
