10 greatest Alabama football undrafted free agents of all time
Greatest Alabama football undrafted player No. 3: Anthony Madison
Defensive back
Pittsburgh Steelers: 2006-2009
Cleveland Browns: 2009
Indianapolis Colts: 2009
Pittsburgh Steelers: 2010
Detriot Lions: 2011
Anthony Madison forged himself quite a career with the Alabama football team, starting 37 out of the 50 games he was a member of the Crimson Tide with 140 tackles, five interceptions, and 30 passes defended.
While he wasn’t drafted out of college, he did sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers and managed to be a part of the return of the Steelers’ dynasty, playing on Super Bowl 43 and Super Bowl 45 champions.
In a six-year NFL career, Madison only started one game, but he did play in 71 contests for the Steelers, Browns, Colts, and Lions. Perhaps the most exciting part of his career is that the Steelers certainly seemed to like what they saw from Anthony Madison, as he had a couple of different stints with that squad.
He also had a kind of quintessential undrafted free agent type of career, considering that he saw time for not one, not two, but three different squads in the 2009 season. The former Alabama football star definitely showed sticktoitiveness, being willing to play for those three different teams, and he forged himself a decent career.
