Which former Alabama football players had the most successful NFL careers?
Professional football has been played for more than a century, though college football goes back even longer. Things look far different in the sport today than some 50 or 100 years ago, but football is football and is full of memories.
Across the history of the sport, there have been hundreds of stars in the NFL, but a significantly higher amount who starred at the collegiate level. Many of those players never got their chance at the professional level, though that’s rarely the case for the stars at Alabama, perhaps the best of all the college football programs throughout history.
Alabama has had quite possibly the two greatest college football head coaches in Bear Bryant and Nick Saban, both of whom recruited and coached a plethora of elite collegiate talent. There’s no shortage of talent, weapons, and memorable names throughout the annals of Alabama football history and many of those players made their mark at the professional level.
There are hundreds of Crimson Tide football players who saw action in the NFL. Today, we’re diving into that deep list of history and picking out the 15 best from the bunch, focusing solely on their accomplishments at the professional level, not specifically at Alabama.
Each of the fifteen names we’re focusing on today could be considered elite football players. There was no shortage of options with Alabama, meaning some truly legendary players couldn’t even make today’s list.
