Alabama Football has 10 verbal commits for its 2024 class. Before the 2023 season begins the number will likely grow with several more commitments. More than five months remain until December’s Early Signing Day on 12/20.

In the number of verbal commits, the Alabama Crimson Tide is well behind other top programs. The Georgia Bulldogs and the Michigan Wolverines have 25 commits. Ohio State has 18; LSU has 18; Florida and Southern Cal have 17.

Nick Saban is a relentless recruiter, but he chooses his own pace, irrespective of how many recruits announce commits to other programs. When the current recruiting cycle winds down next spring, Alabama Football is expected to add 25 or more players in the 2024 class.

Offseasons are made more bearable by following team rankings, based on verbal commits. In addition to the old mainstay, the 247Sports Composite, another source, the On3 Industry ranking provides averaged rankings.

The current team rankings provided by the two sources differ on the Alabama Football 2024 class of commits. Per the 247 Composite, Alabama has the 9th best class among SEC teams and is No. 25 among all FBS programs. The On3 Industry Ranking has the Alabama Crimson Tide at third-best in the SEC and No. 4 overall. The links above will lead to explanations of how each index is calculated.

Alabama football fans will no doubt favor the On3 ranking, but as both are works-in-progress, apparent, wide variations now, will not exist at the end of the recruiting cycle. As a snapshot of now, all 16, 2024 SEC teams and their ’24 verbal commit rankings are listed below.
