Some Alabama football fans likely think Jalen Hurts deserves a higher ranking. No doubt, he is not just one of the Tide’s all-time favorite quarterbacks, but also one of the all-time, most favorite Alabama football players.
Jalen’s most offensive production as an Alabama player came as a freshman in the 2016 season. He passed for 2,780 yards and ran for 954 yards. Calvin Ridley caught the most passes for Alabama in 2016, totaling 72 receptions for 769 yards and seven touchdowns. Ardarius Stewart caught fewer passes than Ridley, with a total of 54 catches. But Stewart’s receptions produced 864 yards and eight touchdowns.
Alabama football fans revere Jalen Hurts for many reasons. The most dramatic reason is the comeback he led in the 2018 SEC Championship game, scoring two fourth-quarter touchdowns.
